Rwanda’s greatest resource is its people and at our three class nursery school we plant and nourish seeds for a flourishing future. Our school is located on the campus of our Peace Center, and boasts a well-stocked library and a large outdoor space for playing and learning. Our teachers are trained in our resilience based approach that creates a loving environment for a community of friendship and learning.
In the three classes for children from age 3-6, even the youngest of children have a head start at learning the basics while learning the most important lessons about friendship, family, and community. Our children develop their resilience, creativity and competence through the arts. Basic skills and values are taught with stories, songs, dancing, drawing, painting, and even sculpture. At our school learning is fun, brings families together, and creates life long friendships, all while centering Rwanda’s cultural values.
Our school is also a community for families, in which parents are organized in their own club and contribute to the school’s direction and decision-making in a collaboration with the school administration and faculty.
